I really can't be stuffed with the Melbourne recap... I'm watching Hellboy atm, keeping an eye out for my new mate Doug Jones... but yea, thats a story for the recap =P
Went to go see Dying Breed today, this time keeping an eye out for my Voice / Screen Acting teacher Elaine Hudson.
Gotta say, I've had mixed feelings about dodgy Australian Horror movies, having seen Wolf Creek for character inspiration for a monlogue I did earlier this year ( clicky here for Youtube goodness! ), I wasn't sure what to expect from Dying Breed, but I was pleasantly surprised, despite the cliche characters, both in the victims and token psychos, the gore was quite good...
Maybe I just like seeing the Aussie Outback / Bushland exploited for gory goodness, since I do quite enjoy my yearly hunting trips about 10 hours from Sydney...
All in all, a worthy 1 1/2 hours spent in a movie cinema, especially considering it's an Australian film, and the local industry is one that needs to be kept alive, with all the young up-and-coming talent that is always trying to gain notice! *cough cough*

Parting Of The Ways AKA Journey's End AKA The Next Doctor
Ok, so this is far more important that my politically themed first post, so I'm gonna devote my second to something far more shocking and devastating...
Now, aside from my personal preference for David as The Doctor, the main factor here, as has been discussed before is, who can top David Tennant? The sole man voted above Tom Baker as the best Doctor in Doctor Who Magazine, is there an actor out there who can do it? And let's not get started on the idea of a female Doctor! It was done well once, and that was a comedy sketch!
I dunno if I wanna say much else, I think I'm still in shock!
Let's just hope that for David's final 5 hours as the Best Doctor yet, Russel T Davies doesn't fuck up the scripts!

An Unearthly Child
I keep reading other people's blogs that don't make any sense or are pretty insignificant, so I thought I'd end up making my own contribution to the growing dungheap that of Internet Blogs...
So today history was rewritten and Barack Obama was elected President of the USA, for the sake of trying to not sound racist... This has a massive WTF written all over it...
It's Kevin 07 all over again. Absolute sweet fuck all to do with the man being elected, and everything to do with him NOT being the other guy.
Politics aside, I'd rather my first blog not be tarnished by such a boring topic
I WILL end by saying I would've preferred a MILF as Vice President...
Anywho, I like the whole Apocalyptic prophecies that seem to be all the rage these days... Several calendars point to us being royally screwed in 2012 (Mayan Calendar... Assassin's Creed =P). Sci-Fi shows continually draw us in by dooming the planet whenever a season finale comes up or the ratings turn to shit (Star Trek: Enterprise, Heroes, Doctor Who)
So I must say, I'm intrigued by the idea, and one I like toying with is the idea of the Seven Signs of the Apocalypse. Now, the actual biblical ones I imagine are quite boring and epic, so I'll simplify the ones I believe have already occured...
1. Star Trek: Enterpise being cancelled in 2005, bringing an end to 18 years of Star Trek on TV.
2. The Glass House being cancelled in 2006 (Only thing I'll concede that John Howard should NOT have done)
3. Kevin Rudd winning the 2007 Australian election
4. Barack Obama winning the 2008 US election (Ok, I lied when I said I'd quit talkin bout Politics... seriously, I'm done now)
5. Billie Piper returning to [and ruining the finale of] Doctor Who in 2008
6. David Tennant leaving Doctor Who in 2009, announcing it in 2008.
So. We're fucked. Nice knowin ya'll!
